Cottage Grove continues to keep busy with various contract jobs.
WHAT’S NEW WITH TEAM COUNCIL?
On April 2nd, the Team Council hosted a speaker event. James Hegstrom, from River Falls, Wis., spoke to the group regarding rights, advocacy, and real life experiences. James said, “If you don’t vote and someone makes bad choices, you can’t really complain about it. The most important way to advocate for yourself is to vote!”
Consumer thoughts on the event:

“I like his ability – that he is able to get around with his own vehicle.” – Amy K.
“I liked the videos and how they stayed connected.” – Julie D.
“I liked that he jokes around. I also like his videos on C.P. and disability.” – Amy K.
Team Council Goals progress update
1) Meet as a group two times off site
2) Vote for officials and representatives – GOAL COMPLETE
3) Have a speaker come to talk about consumer rights, work, etc. – GOAL COMPLETE
4) Sing Christmas Carols at an elderly assisted living
5) Each site will present a newsletter two times per year – GOAL ½ COMPLETE
