Frequently asked questions
about becoming a business partner with ESR

How can I become a business partner with ESR?
Partner with ESR to access employees who can :

  • Work at your business independently under the supervision of an ESR job coach
  • Work together as a team to tackle larger tasks under the direct supervision of an ESR job coach
  • Perform tasks for your business at one of our three community program sites in Cottage Grove, Forest Lake
    or Stillwater.

How can I contract with ESR to provide a work crew?
When you contact ESR about a work crew:

  • A contract representative will visit your business site to learn more about your needs.
  • Employees whose vocational skills match your needs are assigned to your business along with an experienced job coach who works alongside the crew to provide training, ongoing support and daily work supervision.

The price you pay for a work crew is established by the amount and type of work you require; and then you simply submit a monthly check to ESR. That's all there is to it. ESR provides transportation for its workers to and from your business site and is responsible for the work crew's wages, benefits and tax withholding.

What can I expect when I partner with ESR?
When you contact ESR to explore becoming one of our business partners:

  • We meet with you to listen and fully understand your needs in order to ensure the right match between your business and the ESR consumer.
  • We share information on the job candidate's vocational strengths and their goals.
  • We provide a support team, including an employment specialist and job coach, who come to your place of business to help the new employee transition into their job and learn to complete their duties up to your specifications.
  • We provide education and training for your staff if requested to help everyone learn more about one another.
  • We provide ongoing supervision and follow-up for the ESR-supported employee and serve as a resource in order to ensure you and your new employee are mutually satisfied with the placement.
