Forest Lake
April 2008

What's new in Forest Lake?

We have several crews that have started this spring! The "Forest Lake City Park" crew started its third year in April. We started a new crew at "Running Aces Harness Track" in Forest Lake and a landscaping crew in Stillwater. We continue to work at the Courage Center in Stillwater two days a week, and have consumers providing Chore Services for a client in town.

The production center is keeping busy with tin cans and mailings. (Editor's note: the tin cans referred to are an assembly project for a local company in which items are packaged into a container that resembles a tuna can.)

Some of our nonwork activities include library visits, Meals on Wheels, movies, social groups and exercise videos. We also go out for neighborhood walks now that the weather is nice.

One fun fact: We have white squirrels in our area that we see on our walks!

Last month, the Team Council had a guest speaker, James, who spoke about the things he has done to help people with disabilities. He shared his story with us and we really enjoyed him! James was a great speaker to have at ESR Team Council.
