Accreditation shows ESR meets tough industry standards
CARF is the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and sets industry
standards for excellence for agencies like ESR. To be accredited by CARF means ESR and
others like it are committed to excellence and agree to adhere to rigorous standards and
oversight procedures in order to provide the best possible service.
What did CARF have to say about ESR during its last accreditation cycle?
The following comments are taken from the latest CARF survey, conducted in
2008, which granted accreditation for ESR for a three-year period. ESR has been
continuously accredited by CARF since 1999.
"East Suburban Resources has strengths in many areas.The organization is
committed to obtaining input from persons served, parents/guardians, funders,
employees, community employers, and other stakeholders who have an interest in
ESR. This informaiton is utilized throughout the organization to guide decisions
regarding programming, supports, and business practices."
"ESR collects and analyzes a significant amount of data and information that it
effectively uses to manage and improve service delivery. The organization is
commended for providing dedicated staff time to the compilation and analysis of
these data so that they can be easily utilized for decision making at all levels of the
organization. The data are also used to communicate to persons served and other
stakeholders the performance of the organization."
"The organization is commended for its efforts in community employment. Persons
with disabilities are placed in a wide variety of jobs with different types of
employers. Persons served are provided with an array of employment-related
options such as full time, part time, individual placements, work crews, and
alternating or fixed schedules."
