ESR introduces retail product that is for the birds

birdphotoA new retail venture may be for the birds, but it is providing employment opportunities for ESR consumers (adults with developmental disabilities).

ESR is launching a line of bird seed products, known as Birders Select, The adults with disabilities served by ESR mix, package and label the seeds into blends designed to appeal to different birds. With names like “Finch Fancy,” “Cardinal Diet,” and “Songbird Buffet,” it’s easy to determine which feathered friends the mixes seek to attract.

The seed mixes, which contain no fillers, are available directly through ESR and can be found at a sampling of retail outlets around Washington County, including the gift shop at Boutwell’s Landing, Bruce’s IGA in Wyoming, Lindstrom Foods in Lindstrom, Bongaards’ Meats in Cottage Grove, and Zywiec's Garden Center in Cottage Grove.

Your order will be prepared and held at the ESR location nearest you (Forest Lake, Cottage Grove, Stillwater) until you are able to pick it up.
