Basic tax guidelines
(ESR is not a tax expert; the following is not to be considered tax advice. Before making any decisions on donations, we encourage you to seek the advice of a financial manager or tax advisor.)To be considered eligible for a tax deduction by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), charitable giving (referred to here as "donation") must meet the following criteria:

Donors' generous support is vital for ESR programs

ESR is able to provide programs and services because of the generous financial support of donors throughout our community.

Financial resources are tight as our rising costs outpace funding from state and federal sources. Each year it becomes more and more challenging to provide staff and resources to fully meet our consumers' needs.

A gift at any level enables ESR to provide the support and services necessary so that people with developmental disabilities can work in the community and make a productive contribution to our society.

It is your generous donations and partnerships with ESR that help us support our consumers in gaining access to their community and making employment a reality.

ESR's Wish List
The following list includes some of the items that would help improve ESR's programs and services to consumers.

New van to replace high-mileage vehicle -- $20,000

In-kind donations Donations are not always in the form of money.

A meaningful donation can be in the form of a new or gently used item that is in good condition.

Please check with us before you make your donation to ensure we can put the item to use.

To determine if the item you are considering for donation matches a current need at ESR, please contact Executive Director Ed Boeve, 651-351-0190, or eboeve@esrworks.org
